A checkpoint is a place a guard has to stand.
Every checkpoint on a site is a QR tag — a gate house, a perimeter fence, a transformer, a loading bay. The guard has to be there, phone in hand, to scan it.

Each checkpoint carries its own geofence. SmartPatrol confirms the scan landed inside it, and can enforce it — a scan from the car park doesn't count.

Guard data is sensitive. We treat it that way.
SmartPatrol is built as a back-end-for-front-end. The browser never touches the API directly, and a session is designed to survive a hostile page.
- Hidden backend
- The browser only talks to a same-origin proxy. The API origin is a server-side secret.
- Sessions
- Refresh tokens are HttpOnly cookies the front-end can't read; the access token lives in memory only.
- Audit log
- Every privileged action is written to an append-only, tenant-isolated, HMAC-chained log.
- MFA
- Administrators enrol TOTP with single-use recovery codes. Devices revoke instantly.
